Championnat AURA Pratique Technique – Chambéry

The Championnat AURA Pratique Technique is always one of the most important moments of the twirling season—but this year, it felt even more personal. This event is not just about performance; it’s about qualification for the 2026 Championnat de France in Amiens, and you can feel that pressure and determination in every routine. The two day competition was held in Chambéry and being there also brought back a flood of memories. I remember when my daughter won first place in her Cadette Solo category in Bourg-lès-Valence last year. It was such a proud moment—especially knowing she had less than two years of experience at the time. It felt like the beginning of something special.

Now, watching her compete again—this time in a new category, Youth Intermediate, for her first year—really shows how much she has grown and how deep her love for the sport has become. But this level comes with new challenges. Competing against girls who have already spent two years in the category, with more experience and stronger foundations, was not easy to watch as a parent. You see the gap, you feel it—but you also see the potential.

She is still a novice in dance, and there is so much she is learning: how to truly listen to the music, how to control her body, how to build strength in her feet and legs. These are all part of the journey. With the right guidance and training, I know she will continue to grow stronger and more confident.

Over two days, I also found myself completely immersed in the competition especially seeing the Senior and Adult athletes through their Artistic and Rhythmic Twirl. The 50th anniversary of Bâton d’Or and Millenaire events became my first experience in familiarizing the other generation of elite twirlers. I had only ever seen them during European and World Championships on television, so watching them perform live was truly inspiring. Their interpretation of artistic twirling, their presence, their technique—it opened my eyes and deepened my appreciation for the sport. Discovering athletes from the other federation shows what might be for the future of my daughter.

This championship reminded me that twirling is not just about rankings or results. It’s about progress, resilience, and passion. It’s about watching athletes—young and experienced—push themselves, express themselves, and evolve.

As a photographer, I capture moments. But as a parent, I live them. And this event was filled with both—moments of pride, reflection, and inspiration.

The Championnat AURA Pratique Technique will always be a highlight of the season, but this year, it told a deeper story for me. A story of growth, challenges, and love for the sport—both behind the camera and in the stands. And I know this a continuation of the journey.
