Robotique First France – Marnaz
Last weekend, I had the opportunity to photograph La Défi de Robotique in Marnaz—an experience that combined creativity, teamwork, and a touch of winter magic.
I arrived on Friday afternoon with Stéphane, to set up the event. It was my first time visiting Marnaz, and while I’m used to traveling to Chambéry for twirling competitions, this felt like stepping into a completely new environment.
The weather was cold and rainy, but as I drove closer to Marnaz, the landscape transformed. I caught sight of snow falling gently over the mountains—a rare and beautiful moment for me. Watching the white flakes settle across the scenery was peaceful and inspiring.
That evening, I checked into a charming hotel with warm wood interiors that gave it a cozy, alpine feel. It was the perfect place to unwind after the setup. I later joined the team for dinner, where I had the chance to meet new people, share stories, and feel the strong sense of community that would carry into the next day.
Saturday morning brought a different kind of challenge. The roads were icy and slippery, a reminder of the cold night before. But despite that, the sun rose brightly, bringing clear skies and a refreshing energy to the day. It was as if the weather had turned just in time for the event.
As students and teachers began to arrive, the atmosphere quickly filled with excitement. Each team came prepared, eager to present their robots and demonstrate months of hard work. Throughout the day, what stood out most was the pride and team spirit—every group supporting one another while showcasing their innovation and creativity.
Capturing these moments through my lens was truly rewarding. From focused expressions during competitions to bursts of celebration and teamwork, every photo told a story of dedication and passion.
At the end of the event, the top six teams secured their place in the finals this March. To all the finalists—congratulations and best of luck! I’m already looking forward to seeing everyone again in Lyon.
