U15 R2 RCF07 vs Etoile Sportive Trinité | 3-0

Game day arrived with a kind of cold that settles deep into your bones. The wind cut through everything, and the drizzle threatened to make its presence known at any moment. Definitely not my kind of weather.

But that morning, my son asked me something simple: to come take photos of his game. And just like that, it wasn’t about the cold anymore.

I layered up—four layers in total, including two technical ones, gloves, and a thick coat—ready to face the elements. The gloves were absolutely necessary just to keep my hands functioning behind the camera. Standing on the sidelines, I knew it wasn’t just about capturing my son anymore. It meant something bigger.

All the kids on his team were counting on me to capture their moments—their efforts, their goals, their teamwork. That kind of responsibility hits differently. It pushes you to focus, no matter how cold your hands are or how strong the wind blows.

RCF07, playing on home turf and contre Étoile Sportive Trinité U15 in challenging conditions. From the start, the team showed determination but the first half was tough. Playing against the wind made every pass, every clearance and shots very difficult. You could feel the effort it took just to maintain control and stay organized.

On the second half, it told a different story. With the wind now on their side, the team regrouped, found their rhythm, and truly began to play as one. Their energy shifted, their confidence grew, and their teamwork became even more visible on the field.

The result? A solid 3–0 victory! Watching them play, you could feel their growth as a team—the communication, the trust, the energy. It’s moments like these that remind you why sports matter so much at this age.

We were lucky—the rain held off for most of the match. But just as I started organizing the team photo, the drizzle finally came in, almost as if it had been waiting for the final whistle. Cold, a bit wet—but still smiling.

And just when I thought the day was winding down, something unexpected happened. A couple approached me—parents of a player my husband trains—and asked if I could also take photos of their U17 team vs FC Eyrieux Embroye. Moments like that remind me how opportunities often come when you least expect them.

When I finally got home, I could really feel it—my feet were absolutely freezing. Even with all the layers, the cold had settled in for good. The gloves helped keep my hands warm enough to shoot, but the rest of me definitely paid the price. This wasn’t just another game. It was a reminder of why I love what I do.

Even in the cold.
Even in the wind.
Even when it’s not comfortable.

Because sometimes, all it takes is one simple request—from your child—to turn a freezing day into something meaningful. And in the end, it was all worth it.
